Disable "save as" defaulting to OneDrive, but do not disable OneDrive - possible?
- Nov 15, 2023
Have the "Save to Computer by default" checked. That worked for me because I also spent way to much time stressing about this.
mjeannez21 I found that I needed to clear the Default local file location: as mine was defaulting to one specific location for word, excel etc. this then meant it would save to the last known / original file location.
Hope this helps.

I was hoping this solution would work, and it seemed like it would till I tried it. My Excel still defaults to saving into OneDrive. Will seek other solutions. Too bad.

same problem as John, i open a excel file from the local drive then save as to a local C:\Users\ssolomon6\OneDrive - DXC Production\xyz\ folder using the local address and it still initiates the saves to the one drive SharePoint instead of the local address.
i expect the file to be saved locally first and synch to onedrive later.
i have already changed every setting to store local only for initial creation and never open from onedrive.
