How do I delete a drop down list in Excel?
Assuming you mean to deactivate the Data Validation, which is more technically what the drop down lists are.
Click on the range of cells (or cell) that contain(s) the drop down, and then in the Data Validation menu itself...
...select Data Validation
...and then click on the "Clear All" button in the lower left
- BradOBrian40Copper ContributorI have a similar problem getting rid of a drop-down list. I am running MS365 in Windows. The list lays on top of some cells in a spreadsheet, and I can't move it or delete it; it contains the entries "Annual", "Semi-Annual", and "Monthly". I don't know how this box was inserted on my sheet, and it apparently has no functional purpose in changing cell values. I tried the "Data Validation" suggestion above, but that option is grayed-out. Any other solution thoughts?
Do you have any kind of protection?
