Date formatting Year changes to (example - 02/02/2020 changes to 02/06/7436)

I have a workbook with multiple sheets. The formatted cell Number, in question, is set at 'Date', *3/14/2012

 

It changes the day and year.  Example: I enter 02022020 - it give me 02/06/7436

I was expecting 02/02/2020

    Hello TCNA1921,

     

    Excel stores dates as numbers. Starting with 1/1/1900 = 1. The date 2/6/7436 = 2022020 (or the 2022020th date since 1/1/1900). 

    If you wish to view 02022020 as 02/02/2020, you may use the following custom format:

    00"/"00"/"0000
