Data pivot table lab data
Hi,
I need to process some lab data with excel, and i think a pivot table is the solution for this. I was almost there, but now there is still a problem i cannot fix myself. I will try to explain as easy as possible.
In example you can see what is should be (is created manually).
I have a excel data file with several data colums ( 5, such as sample description, tag number etc) Every sample has its own analysis or test ( this is ranked by columns , see example. Now, the results of such a analysis, is linked to the specific sample and tag number. The issue is that i don't get the exact test values in my pivot table, instead i get a sum count or something like that instead of the real analysis value. See second picture. Any a idea how to solve?
Click on Count of REPORTED VALUE under Σ Values in the lower right corner of your screenshot.
Select Value Field Settings from the drop-down menu.
Select Sum instead of Count as summary option.
- Vincent_1978Copper ContributorHi Hans, thank you for your help! But still not that what i should want. I need no sum or count, just the exact value that is linked to the sample ranked by row and analysis ranked by column.
A pivot table always summarizes data, either by counting them, or calculating the sum, average, ....
So a pivot table is not what you need...
