Currency Separator
Can this separator be only for thousands or can it be changed as it is done for Indian currency? For Indian currency, the numbers go in thousands up to 100,000 which is called one lakh. For exampl...

If you are on Windows, you can set the digit grouping to 12,3456,789:
Excel will then use it.
If you use standard digit grouping 123,456,789, it will be very complicated to apply lakh/crore formatting.
- DrMuraliApr 28, 2024Copper ContributorThanks for sharing this method! However, looks like it will be universally applied for all Excel files. That would be a problem for currencies that use the thousands format throughout - thousands, millions, billions, etc. So, I got to think about this.

You might request digit grouping to be applied at the workbook or worksheet level, or to be set in a custom format. In Excel, select Help > Feedback.
