currency decimal point?

Im running the latest Excel on Microsft 365 in Windows 11 on my PC.

When i type in 50....and my currency is set to 2 decimal points with R (OUR COUNTRY CURRENCY INDICATOR)

Instead of indicating R50.00?......it shows R0.50?

I have to type in 5000...to indicate it as R50.00.

Can someone please help on how to set this correctly?
