CSV file - deleted data
1. Check the original size of the file
Right-click on the CSV file → Properties → check if the file size is normal (empty files usually show 1KB)
Open it with a text editor
Right-click on the CSV file → Open as → select Notepad
Check that the data exists in its entirety (if it exists it's a problem with Excel's display)
2. Change the way you open it
Open a blank Excel
Data Tab → Text/CSV from
Select File → Adjust settings in the Import Wizard
3. Adjust Excel settings
File → Options → Advanced
Find "Display options for this worksheet"
Uncheck "Show zeros in cells with zero values"
4. Use AutoRecover
Open Excel → File → Open
Click on "Recover Unsaved Workbook" (check for temporary files)
5. Convert file format to repair
Open CSV with Notepad
Save As → Encoding Select UTF-8
Re-open with Excel
6. Important Reminders
Create a backup copy of the CSV file before opening it
Avoid double-clicking directly on the CSV file, use Excel's import function instead
We recommend that you use a professional text editor to process large CSV files
