CountIF formula help

Good Morning,

Can someone help me on this formula to extract how many times items in column B have been counted?

Sorry, not enough context. This data represents all the items cycled counted throughout the year. The goal is to have all “A” items counted twice, my objective is to see how times we counted “A” items.

So you want the sum of column F or column G where column E contains "A" -- is that correct? If so, that's an even easier case where the Pivot Table would work. My last reply contained a link to an explanation of the Pivot Table. It's easy to do. If--as I said before--you need help, then please attach a copy of at least as much of your spreadsheet as you're showing in these images. Otherwise, you're asking those of us willing to help to also create the spreadsheet....it would be far more considerate of you to attach one.

Assuming columns A or D are always filled, you could just use a Pivot Table, no formula needed.

And if you need further guidance, might I suggest you attach an actual file rather than an image. That way I or somebody else could demonstrate the solution with your actual data.
