Copy and paste - Pastes previous value

Hi - This just started today. When I copy some text from outside of excel, it won't past the most recent text. It pastes the previously copied text. 

The text I just copied shows up in the Clipboard panel, but even if I use the drop down and select paste, it pastes the last value.

I have to clear the clipboard each time to get it to paste.

I removed a recent add on, but that didn't fix it.

I work in excel all day, every day and I really need to fix this.

Any help is appreciated!

    Almost 2025 and still having this problem. Does anyone know of a fix ?  I see reports of this problem from 12 years ago. It seem like Excel has it's own private clip board.

    We have a user having this issue as well now.

    I came across your old post from 2020.

    Any help would be appreciated.
