Copy & Pate between workbooks

I am copying a date from one workbook to another.

The date located in the 1st workbook is "03/02/08"

The result when I paste it into the other workbook is "03/01/04"

I tried converting the dates to text & to number & then reformatting back to dates.

Both locations show the reformatted dates with the same text or number.

    This means that one of the workbooks uses the 1904 date system (default on Mac) and the other doesn't (default on Windows). Add 1460 to the date in the target workbook.

      Yes, I just found out a bit ago. I set cells to transfer back & forth between the 2 workbooks. When I transferred no date, the other workbook showed 1/1/1904. Changing the 1904 option fixed the problem. The only thing is, both workbooks are Excel 365 and I didn't touch the date setting option in either one. Must be MS goblins at work again.
