converting a spreadsheet from one format to another

I have a spreadsheet that is formatted from an apple computer and sent to my Dell. It came over with symbols and numbers in boxes where there should be addresses. my goal is to convert the spreadsheet to a format for address labels. I have no idea how to do that!
