Continuous Page Numbering Across Multiple Spreadsheets

I need to add page numbers across multiple worksheets.

The first spreadsheet has 1 page

The second spreadsheet has 100 pages

The third spreadsheet has 125 pages

I selected the second spreadsheet, then Page Layout, Page Setup, and typed in the number 2 in the 'First page number' box and also added the page number &[Page] of &[Pages] using the Header Footer Feature

Then I selected the third spreadsheet, then Page Layout, Page Setup, and typed in the number 103 in the 'First page number' box and also added the page number &[Page] of &[Pages]  using the Header Footer Feature

I'm getting unexpected results.  The third spreadsheet page number reads '255 of 51'

I also tried selecting all three spreadsheets, adding page numbers, then selecting print preview for Active Sheets but the page number for the first tab shows '235 of 285'.
