May 08, 2017Conditional Format copying with rules
I have a spreadsheet that as you input dates in that row of various visits the entire row will change color to the cooresponding color assigned for the entire row. I have the row working properly utilizing Conditional format with 5 different rules (colors) working just fine but cannot copy to other rows. Tried using format painter option and all various paste functions but does not work. Any help greatly appreciated.

Dear Tony Rader,
Kindly make the necessary ammendments recommended by Sergei Baklan, in your conditional formatting rules. In addition remember the following.
(1) The sequence of the conditional format may also impact the colour of the cells.
Example if the first rule is that any cell whose value is above 10 has to be green, and the second rule is that any value above 20 has to be yellow, then no cells will be dislayed in yellow, even if the value some of the cells is above 20.
(2) The conditional format has to be applied to a certain range of cells. Can you confirm that the range of cells that are not getting formatted are having the conditional format rules applied to them in the correct sequence?
If required, send the 5 conditional formatting rules in the correct sequence, along with the ranges that they have ben applied to.

Hi Tony,
Format Painter shall work if you use relative referencies on columns in your rules formula, not absolute one, for example
=($A1>5) but not =($A$1>5)
