Color coding cells based on values

Hi,

I have 7 columns and 50 rows of data . Data value in cell can range from 1 to 35.

For example First row can hold value like 4, 19, 20, 23, 29, 33, 35. Similarly there will be 50 rows of data.

For each row, i would like to highlight the 7 values with different colors , and hide the numbers and view the spreadsheet as just a color coded one.

From that color coded menu, i would like to find out when a pattern has a reoccured.

For eg: in the 5th row, the value appearing might be close enough , which is like 3, 18, 21, 24, 30, 32, 35. This means the pattern is quite close to the first row.

I know only the basics of excel, hence couldnt figure this out with the highlight cells using conditional formatting method.

If any one can help me, that would be great

Thanks and Regards

  • Try applying a conditional formatting with a color scale rule. Then you'll see similar color patterns in those rows; I'm still wondering how you'll check similarities, just checking the color by sight?
