Co-authoring macro enabled Excel files on a shared OneDrive folder

There are a number of macro enabled Excel files on a personal OneDrive folder shared with me and I am able to co-author a couple of them without the macros getting blocked.  There are however quite a few others where macros get blocked with the message "Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of the file is untrusted".

I have to co-author these files so saving them on my local drive and removing the block from file properties is not going to be of any use and there does not seem to be a way to put the shared OneDrive folder in Trusted Locations.

Also, if a file which I am able to open without macros getting blocked is saved with a different name, the macros on the new file get blocked!  Very odd.

Is there some other way to remove this block?

I seem to have found a workaround.
According to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/security/internet-macros-blocked#files-on-onedrive-or-sharepoint one can add the url to your Trusted Sites in "Internet Options". For a personal onedrive, rather than a business one, the URL https://d.docs.live.net worked for me.

In terms of security, one needs to ask if you are willing to have all macros from onedrive run. I guess that was the situation before Sept 22.

    Hello dmkkg and TheRian
I am not sure if you can run VBA code from a shared workbook.
Look at this and see if it helps:

    I have the same question.

It seems one can run macros in Shared Onedrive folders that you own and shared, but not where it was shared with you. This seems to have changed in the last few months. I have not found any workaround.
