Circular rferencies
One way to find and fix circular references is to use the Trace Precedents and Trace Dependents commands on the Formulas tab in Excel.
These commands can help you visually trace the relationships between cells and identify the source of the circular reference.
Another way to find circular references is to use the Error Checking feature in Excel.
On the Formulas tab, click the Error Checking button, then select Circular References.
This will show you a list of cells that are involved in circular references.
If these methods don’t work for you, you might consider using a third-party add-in or tool that can help you find and fix circular references in your workbooks.
As far as I could gather from your text, you have already tried a few things...if none of this helped; you could try a third-party program to solve this.
One third-party tool that may be able to help you find and fix circular references in your Excel workbooks is PerfectXL. PerfectXL is capable of finding all types of circular references even before Excel itself highlights them . You can analyze your model and click the “Risk Overview” button to find them .

In between I have identified the two workbooks and try to find the faulty cell.

Thank you for the tip, but after contacting a third party such as PerfectXL and they confess never had the problem and that there software's are only for stand alone workbooks.
I continue my investigations and if I succeed I wil tell the community.
