Change Default Browser in Which Hyperlinks Open
If Excel Home and Student 2021 is opening hyperlinks in Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome, you can fix this without editing the registry. First, go to Settings (Win + I), then navigate to Apps > Default apps. Scroll down, select Google Chrome, and ensure that both HTTP and HTTPS links are set to open with Chrome instead of Edge. Additionally, open Control Panel by pressing Win + R, typing control, and hitting Enter. It was already the default. Had tried setting it as default again despite that. Tried repairing it. None of this worked. Any other ideas?
You have to consider using a URL redirection extension in Chrome, such as Redirector, which can override Windows' behavior for opening certain links.
by the way, i am not using excel in the browser. i am using a desktop licence. it should be possible to do it without using a chrome extension since this was never required before it randomly switched to opening the links in Edge recently.
