change background when using dropdown list
When picking items from a dropdown list that contains employees who have different color backgrounds based on their dept, I want the background for that item in the table to appear on my spreadsheet once I pick them for my sheet.

Do you have conditional formatting rules for the colors in the source of the drop-down list?
If so, you should be able to apply similar rules to the cells with the drop-down list.
- TDCOLLINSCopper Contributorno the source is just colored individually. I have started applying conditional formatting based on the name of the cell but there are over 200 employees. I was hoping there was an easier way than individual rules for ea employee to obtain their color. My master drop down table source contain employee supervisor and dept name. all color coded to match their respective dept color. I was hoping to pick up the color from that table based on the name chosen
That would be difficult.
