Can't register MSBCODE964.OCX ActiveX

I've used the MSBCODE964.OCX on Windows 10 (Excel/Office 365) to generate QR-codes in an Excel-document for over a year now without any issues.

Suddenly it stopped working, with an errormessage (translated from Swedish) "Can not register this module" while trying to re-import the ActiveX-controller in Excel.

I have googled and tried to copied the OCX-file to System32 (and SysWOW64), also tried using the Regsvr32-command without any success.

Why did it suddenly stop working? An automatic update? Any suggestions how to solve this problem?
If the problem lies within the OCX-file itself, could you recommend a more stable solution that works over time/future updates?
