Can't get 1-4-5 this type of number in excel .

Question

When I was typing door no's like 1-4-5 but showing in date format like 1-4-2005. I tried in text, general and number format but no use. By the Microsoft office reference I off the option of "use 1904 date system"&nbsp; no change in cell's. Please suggest proper solution to me.

Sekhar97&nbsp;Put a single quote in front of text. Try-'1-4-5&nbsp;

Sekhar97&nbsp;Format the column where you intend to enter the codes as Text first. Then you can enter 1-4-5 and Excel will not transform it into a date.
