Could you attach a sample workbook demonstrating the problem (without sensitive data), or if that is not possible, make it available through OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox or similar?
Not possible. However, issue was resolved by clicking on Data in the ribbon, selecting entire contents of current table, clicking the funnel icon to toggle filters off. Although the product is incredibly opaque this worked, although in the process it appears to have self-generated three blank rows immediately following the row that was the bottom in the table before the expansion.
