Cannot get macros in Excel trusted
I cannot get Excel to run macros. I have tried adding the file locations to trusted locations, there are no security issues in the File Properties, I am the creator of the files, I have turned off antivirus, there is no problem in the code, and I have spoken to an agent and tried everything they have suggested. Still get the red bar at the top saying 'SECURITY RISK Microsoft has blocked macros from running because the source of this file is untrusted'.

If you've tried various troubleshooting steps and still encounter issues with running macros in Excel, here are some additional steps you can try:
- Check Macro Settings: Ensure that macro settings in Excel are configured to allow macros to run. You can check this by going to File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings. Make sure that "Enable all macros" or "Enable all macros (not recommended; potentially dangerous code can run)" is selected.
- Digital Signature: Consider digitally signing your macro-enabled workbook. A digital signature helps establish the authenticity of the workbook and can help bypass security warnings. To digitally sign a workbook, you need a digital certificate from a trusted certificate authority (CA).
- Try a Different Workbook: Test if the issue persists with a different macro-enabled workbook. This can help determine if the problem is specific to the current workbook or if it's a broader issue with Excel's macro security settings.
- Reset Excel Settings: If the issue persists, you may try resetting Excel settings to their default values. This can sometimes resolve unexpected behavior. Keep in mind that this action may reset various customizations and preferences in Excel. You can typically find this option in the Excel Options menu.
- Update Excel: Ensure that you have the latest updates installed for your version of Microsoft Excel. Sometimes, issues with macro security can be resolved with software updates.
- Scan for Malware: Run a thorough scan of your system for malware and viruses. Sometimes, security software or malware on your computer can interfere with the execution of macros.
- Check Group Policy Settings (for Enterprise Users): If you're on a company network, your IT department may have implemented Group Policy settings that restrict the execution of macros. Contact your IT administrator to ensure that your group policy settings allow macros to run.
If you've exhausted all these options and still experience issues, it may be helpful to send more information about your issue and Versions (Excel, opareting system, store medium, etc.). The text was created with the help of AI.
