Cannot copy cell into formula bar
In the latest Excel 365 in Windows, I copy a cell, and then attempt to paste that into the formula bar on another spreadsheet, but nothing pastes and the original cell then becomes no longer selected...
So does anyone know if there is a setting to fix this behaviour? If not, how does one lodge a bug report for Excel?
You can use File > Feedback from within Excel, but I'm certain that Microsoft will consider this behavior as "by design".
- Thanks I have done that now, but doubtful there'll be a fix, so I guess I just have to change my habits.
I have used Excel for Windows since 1995 or so, and it has never been possible to copy one cell and then paste into the formula bar of another cell.
This is definitely possible in Microsoft Excel on Mac. Maybe it was never possible on Excel on Windows. Definitely would've made life simpler if it were possible!
