Can I use bluetooth scanner with Excell 2016 and how

I have a inatech bluetooth scanner which I have connected to my Windows 10 PC.  I open a new spreadsheet in My excel 2016 document and higlight a cell then scan a barcode but no entry is made in the cell.  I am using Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016.  Can anyone help me with how I can use this scanner to input into Excel 2016.
