Box and whisker plot issues
Hi
I am trying to create a box and whisker plot for some data for which I already have the summary statistics (min, max, median, IQR). Excel creates the box and whisker plot however it either lumps all data into one series name, or otherwise converts every variable to its own box and whisker plot. It will not let me separate out the data labels or edit the horizontal axes labels. See the screenshots below for both options I've tried. Please help suggest what I can do to try and make a sensible box and whisker plot like the first screenshot but with the horizontal axes labelled correctly.
Thanks
First attempt creates correct plot but without separate labels and if I include a "horizontal axis" it will not let me edit itSecond attempt lists correct horizontal series titles but has separated out all the data points into their own "box and whisker" plot

Unfortunately, your source data is in wrong format. The Box & whiskers plot in Excel needs raw data - not aggregated Quartiles, means etc. You must give all data points to get the correct output. Excel will calculate all metrics itself.
I hope it helps!
