What am I doing wrong.
the data is formatted as numbers. I have used paste special X1.
This is the result.
I am a well practiced but relatively basic user. I set the sum for B6.

Hi jlockley! This is the Agent 365 discussion space. I think you'll more likely find an answer in the Excel discussion space:
Excel | Microsoft Community Hub
That said, as a well-practiced but relatively basic user myself, I think you'd want that formula to be in the C6 box and have it =sum(C1:C5) -- that should add up all five individual payments. Hope that helps; have a good day!

Thank you . as far as I can see this is the excel forum.
Snowman gave me a good code. The issue was not sum but the inability to convert numbers downloaded as text from a European site to dates. I have had the same issue in the past with numbers.
The solution I found ended up being relatively simple, using the convert text to columns feature for delimited text but choosing "none" as the delimiter.
Perhaps this will help someone else. It is frustrating.
