Autocomplete dropdown

Question

As far as I can tell Excel has no native capability to make a dropdown that dynamically narrows the list as you type. This would be very useful for data validation dropdowns with very long lists. Does anyone know of a way to do this, like a plugin?

Microsoft is gradually rolling out this feature in Excel in Microsoft 365.
In other versions, you might use a combo box - see Data Validation Combo box&nbsp;
