Auto Sorting ALL rows by the data from single column
I am building a "Standings Sheet" for a Bowling League that sorts all the players in a placing by their game average so I don't have to manually move everyone around every week. I need the ENTIRE row with the name of the bowler and all their stats in the cells to be moved up or down by the value in one of those columns. So far, every attempt I have made has failed. I often get the error (all merged cells need to be same size)
Thanks in advance.

To automatically sort all rows by the data in a single column in Excel, you can use the following steps:
- Select the entire range of data, including the column headers and all the rows you want to sort.
- Go to the "Data" tab in the Excel ribbon and click on the "Sort" button.
- In the Sort dialog box, choose the column you want to sort by from the "Sort by" dropdown list.
- Select the sorting order (e.g., ascending or descending) from the "Order" dropdown list.
- Make sure the "Header row" checkbox is checked if your data has headers.
- Click on the "Options" button in the Sort dialog box.
- In the Options dialog box, check the "Sort left to right" checkbox.
- Click on the "OK" button to close the Options dialog box.
- Finally, click on the "OK" button in the Sort dialog box to apply the sorting.
This process will sort the entire rows based on the values in the selected column. The corresponding data in each row will move along with the row during the sorting process.
Regarding the error message about merged cells, it is important to ensure that there are no merged cells within the range you are sorting. Merged cells can cause issues with sorting. Unmerge any merged cells in the range before performing the sorting operation.
