how do I make a count if function into an array formula? I have been trying control+shift+enter, but it doesn't work. I am using excel through Microsoft office with a mac book

I could be mistaken, but I don't think COUNTIF returns an array. It isn't amenable to that syntax; it returns a single number of the number of rows in a range that meet the criterion established.
