Alternative file format
The excel format 2003 xml Spreadsheet is no longer supported in my company, can any one suggest what could be an alternative file format I can choose to save the file to get the same file type options as per new M365 standard
1. Save document as PDF: Save as PDF in the original file (Word/Excel → Save As → select PDF format).
PDF is usually not limited by Office protection, and most AI tools support direct parsing using Markdown or plain text
2. Copy the content of the document to a Markdown file (.md) or plain text file (.txt), and then upload it to Chat.
Applicable scenarios: suitable for text-based content (code, description documents).
Unprotect the document (if there is a password)
Word/Excel click “File” → “Information” → “Protect Document” → Remove the password or permission restrictions.
