"Allow edit range" permission on Azure AD joined device
Same problem. computx Microsoft Excel OliverScheurich NikolinoDE - Any ideas as Gold contributors?
Excel is traditionally designed for on-premises Active Directory (AD) environments where users can be selected directly from Windows AD.
This is not possible on Azure AD-joined devices as Excel only displays local user accounts, to my knowledge. Currently, there is no direct solution to integrate Azure AD user selection with the Allow Scope Edit feature in Excel.
One possible workaround is to set passwords for specific scopes.
This method does not leverage Azure AD for user-specific permissions, but it does allow for control over who can edit specific scopes based on password distribution.
In case Microsoft provides a better solution, keep an eye on Excel and Azure AD updates.
Hope this helps! 😊
