Alert on Excel unable to recalculate
Hi I keep getting an alert every time I hit return in a cell "
"Excel ran out of resources while attempting to calculate one or more formulas. As a result, these formulas cannot be evaluated." Please can some tell me how to get rid of this. I know I can switch off auto calculate but that is inconvenient when working on large spreadsheets as multiple errors are hard to trackdown. thanks

olly_35 Sounds like your spreadsheet has a serious issue! Without seeing your spreadsheet this is very hard to troubleshoot however. Tip:
- Open a copy of the file
- Delete one worksheet
- Save-as to a different name
- Close Excel
- Open newly saved file
- If issue persists, repeat from step 2
Once you have located the sheet, go back to 1 and delete just that sheet to make sure it is that sheet causing your issue.
If you have pinned down the worksheet, you could do similar actions by removing formulas from the sheet until the problem goes away.

JKPieterse Unfortunately this isn't about formula as spreadsheets previously ok will exhibit this "bug" when opened. This is a version bug issue... Ive looked on-line and some solutions are to reload an older version of excel but I have no idea which versions will help and I was hoping for some help from Microsoft themselves.
- JKPieterseSilver ContributorPerhaps you can re-install Office? I have little knowledge of Mac Office I'm afraid, for Windows Office I would have suggested to go to the account tab and choose an "older" channel, but it looks like Mac does not have that tab.
