I know this is an old thread, but I completely agree with everything you said, except that Excel 2003 still works. I have both Excel 2003 and Excel 365 on my Windows 11 PC. Excel 2003 still works just fine. I use it 99% of the time, and I cringe anytime I have to use Excel 365.
