Greetings, Insiders! Last week had all of our recent updates, so this week is pretty light.
As normal with our light weeks, we want to take this time to thank you all for your continued feedback. You have all suggested a large amount of the items on our Addressed list (under the spoiler tag, shout out to the forums community for that suggestion!). We continue to review and adjust the work we do based on your feedback. Yes, even the things we mark as Not Planned are still evaluated based on feedback.
New to these posts and unsure how to help us out with your own suggestions? There’s a few different ways you can get us feedback! The first (and best) way is directly through the browser. If you’re on a Windows device, Alt+Shift+I will bring up the feedback tool. On Mac (but also on Windows), navigate through the … menu > Help and feedback > Send feedback. We have Edge on mobile, too! On those devices, tap the … menu and scroll down to Send feedback. The next best way? These forums! Post up a new discussion thread and let us know your thoughts. We’re also on Twitter, so drop us a mention the next time you want to get a quick thought out. And lastly, we’ve been pretty active in r/MicrosoftEdge and r/Edge lately, so if Reddit is your comfort place know that we’re seeing your feedback there, too.

- How about letting us know if you all are working on the vertical tabs feature; Planned, Planned for ????, Planned for the year 2030.. etc...... Was originally stated as "coming in the next couple months" back in March...

Current issues I find testing Edge as a potential daily driver:
Windows:- Right-click tab -> "Add tab / selected tabs to a new collection" (currently only all pages in the window)
- Home screen search bar is Bing only
- Simple color schemes for drifferent profiles (don't need/want fancy themes necessarily, just set color to top bar to keep profiles distinct)
- Collections -> Send to other targets (maybe SharePoint lists, OneNote, To Do?)
- Option to open new tab at the end of the line instead of next to current one
- Being logged in to my MS account for most services is Good. Having to be logged into them is Bad.
- Having to use Bing logged in and it not having a no history, no logs mode is Bad. I don't want my search history saved or associated with my accounts, even if I otherwise might like Bing as a search product. Being unable to separate Bing from my account and have it collect no history is an MS adoption blocker.
- OneNote web clipper is automatically associated with the MS account I use to sync and I can't associate it with a different one. This is undesirable. The web clipper being logged in with the account I'm using to sync Edge is a good default, not being able to change it to a different one is capital Bad.
- Option to choose which profile to open an external link with.
Android:
- Android platform issues are a big blocker for proper desktop adoption.
- Limited profile support (only one personal account, account shared with MS Launcher because ???)
- Apps should let me have as many accounts as I want and if they need content to include, choose which ones I want freely. Apps being one profile dominant is absurdly irritating.
- This and Bing are real adoption blockers for MS ecosystem apps. Different accounts on different platforms need to be a thing for it to be smooth. Powerful multiaccount support and separation/fusion by my own choice would make adopting a lot of MS apps easy, now many are blocked, eg. Edge, Office for Android, Launcher.
- MS apps fusing data from all accounts I'm using on a device is absurdly irritating. Let me choose what I see.
- Apps should let me have as many accounts as I want and if they need content to include, choose which ones I want freely. Apps being one profile dominant is absurdly irritating.
- UI. Needs option to keep UI visible when browsing, preferably for top and bottom bar separately.
- No Collections
- Hard to determine where a new Favourite will be saved.
- Can't edit image address. Have to copy it, and then enter it into the address bar, then edit it. Stupidly clunky workflow.
- Option to choose which profile to open an external link with.
Android:
Got Collections from the beta.
This seems like probably the best mobile tab/bookmark solution I have ever seen, at least as far as browsing existing collections goes.
Main fault is that when you open a site from a collection, the bottom bar doesn't let you delete a collection item. Have to expand it to get options on individual items.
Need:
Ability to move items between Collections
Notes in Collection items
I want an interface like this for tabs. Yesterday. The collections UI is amazing.- This is some beta version or English-only now? Nothing new via Google Play for me.
It's available already, go to edge://settings/search in that you can change to SE of your choice, if you want to make use completely third-party SE, opt for Address bar in "Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar", you are good to go then, but features like contextual search will not be available
- Can you please specify when in Summer will history/open tabs syncing be ready? It's past half of the summer already and history/open tabs syncing is crucial for multidevice use.
Will there be an option to be able to change the background image through Intune for the "new tab page" when you have used the Office 365 page content layout type?
We want to use the Office365 integration in Edge on the new tab page but would also like to be able to set the image in there to be a company branded one. I can't see an option to set this via a policy in Intune. I can see the option is available for consumers but for the business side of things I cannot see a way to change this setting.
Does using the Office365 integration then not allow you to change the background?
Also on top of that will there be possibilities to enforce a particular view for people? By default the user gets the chance to choose between the focused, informational etc but as a company we would want everyone to get the benefit of the informational one.
With Edge being pushed mandatory from 20H2 onwards it really needs to have all the capabilities of being managed from an enterprise point of view.

As always, great to hear of your progress and plans.
I have to say, however, that I am disappointed to not see an issue on your list: Edge support for the system back button when using Windows 10 in tablet mode.
Tapping the system back button should navigate backwards in the browser's page history stack; instead, it kicks you from the application altogether, giving focus to the previous app. Needless to say, this is very jarring. On Surface devices, this presents a significant usability issue when trying to use touch.
I had assumed that this would just be fixed as a matter of course, as it violates a rather specific Windows user interface convention. But it's been 18 months... If you have no plans to address this, maybe you should tell the Windows team to kill tablet mode altogether (and then we can all go buy iPads instead).

garyvoth MissyQ I also share the frustration with this as well. The lack of support to System Back Button of new Microsoft Edge is not just jarring, but often breaks the flow. I always have keep in mind that the system back button when using Edge is useless or else I exit from the app and go back to previous app if not the Start screen.
Not sure why there is no development for this, this should have been supported within 12 months considering this is an OS features related to basic system navigation.
Sadly as I understand, Tablet Mode in Windows 10 is already been abandoned, which may be the reason why this is ignored? T_T
I hope we see it gets supported.

It's been 4 months since we said that this options Provide an option to set a custom URL for a new tab instead of showing the new tab page is indicated as adressed (since March 31), and yet this option is not present
Or other features validated since October, November 2019 and still nothing
