The workaround works for me. It is definitely a bug. No idea why it is not happening all the time, but it is very frustrating to write the comment and for it to just vanish and have to type it again. Hopefully this time you know the workaround: tab + enter, otherwise you'll get even more frustrated.
It happens in both Win 10 and Win11 both running Edge.
