Edge logs me out of Gmail every time I close the browser
I have tried posting this on Gmail forums with no success. For the past 10 days or so, Edge logs me out of my 3 Gmail accounts every time I close the browser. It does not save any of their login info. It never did this in the past, and this does not occur with any other site. I have checked the settings multiple times, and Edge IS NOT set to automatically clear cookies from any site, including Gmail. I have tried resetting browser settings and am still experiencing this.

A SUPER SIMPLE SOLUTION One way to make this feature of Edge not so painful is not to log out of Edge.
To get Edge off of your screen, without logging out of Edge, click on the minimize dash mark in the upper right-hand corner of the Edge screen. Then when you rest your cursor on the Edge icon at the bottom of your computer screen, it will show you the current Edge screen. This is how you verify that you are still logged into Edge. When you click on Edge, it will bring up the current Edge screen, and you will not have to log back into your Gmail account.
This solution should work for you most of the time. But, for any of various reasons, it probably won't work all the time. One possible reason is that Edge is buggy and will do strange things. But there are many other possible reasons.
In most cases, when dealing with a problem in Microsoft Software, it is easier to live with the problem than to fight it. If you do find way to solve the problem, like selecting various options in various checkboxes, it will probably stop working the next time Microsoft updates the software.
And you do want the MS software updates because sometimes they contain fixes that stop viruses and other malware from annoying you. Viruses and other malware are a real problem. Just when you have everything working, they can zap in and screw everything up.
If you are having problems with more MS software than just edge, you might consider switching to UNIX.
MS is a huge company, and it is driven by the "bottom line." MS sometimes adds new features to its software in order to attract new customers. Sometimes bugs are introduced into the MS software when new features are added. This is inherent in software development process. There is no surefire way to avoid it. Even to reduce it to a minimum is prohibitively expensive.
Another thing that makes MS software buggy is the pressure to release. There is often a conflict between management and engineers regarding when a product is ready for release. Typically, the engineers want more testing, and the managers want a faster release time. The managers win this conflict, but remember, without the managers, there would not be enough money to pay the salaries of the engineers.
It used to be that the MS software engineers were the best software engineers in the world. But that is no longer true. As of about three years ago, Google had the best software engineers. For a topflight S/W engineer, working for Google is vastly more profitable than working for MS.
Oh, BTW, I am 78 years old, have a PhD in mathematics and have enjoyed a 62-year career in various phases of S/W development. Nee name: John Gayle Aiken IV. Screen name: Deacon John.

Hi everyone posting this in case anyone is still struggling, this is what I did to resolve the same issue.
Settings -> Profiles -> Profile preferences -> Turn OFF "Automatically sign in to sites with your current work or school account?"
Hope this helps.- HappuScrubCopper Contributor

Potentially, this setting in Clear on Exit under the Cookies and Site Data must be doing it.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear this. It sounds very frustrating. May I know, are you an Edge Insider (Beta, DEV or Canary)? I'm asking because they aren't as stable as the non-insider channels and have more problems. Also, check Google, maybe go to the Security in Gmail/Google. I hope this helps, have a great day!
