Beta Channel is live, collections is in Canary, all the details right here.
We have some news to announce. We have been working on getting our Beta channel builds ready to unveil, while steaming full ahead getting new features into Canary. We hope that you will download and try out our Beta channel, which installs side by side with our other preview channels (Canary and Dev), as well as the current version of Microsoft Edge. Beta is the most stable preview version of Microsoft Edge, and will the last stop before we go live. Joe Belfiore has written a full blog post on what this milestone means to us, and what you can expect.
In addition to our big announcement of the Beta channel, we are happy to tell you that we are beginning to test our Collections feature in the latest Canary channel builds. We announced the Collections feature in our Microsoft Build 2019 conference keynote in May, and have been working on getting it great since then. To test out this feature, you must first enable it using the #edge-collections flag on the edge://flags page. You are then free to add, edit. delete and even export collections to your heart's content. As always, please let us know how you think we are doing. We love hearing from you, and your feedback, whether you love it or hate it, will help us shape this into the best browser possible. Thank you! - Elliot

Re collections , having read the full statement i have a different opinion and work on it again. I did access flags previously 0115 JohnElliot Kirk
- chafidzCopper ContributorAs far as anything mentioned above, I still think to stay in DEV channel since commit on BETA still long way to go. Yeah it still bricks in some updates but the fix committed much faster. If I could suggest, why not shorten the release train for BETA, like 4 weeks?

Has anyone experienced the page jumping when going to someones post or threads? Maybe it could be a Extension causing this? Just wondering...
- Drew1903Silver Contributor
Sherry Malik
Certainly, not I, Sherry; no jumping. Maybe not the best reference as I have/use very few extensions.
Cheers,
Drew- Sherry MalikIron Contributor
Well I am just testing these extensions on this marvelous browser! Okay I give..I'll go see which ones I do not need....

Elliot Kirk that's cool. but is microsoft giving up UWP app?
- Elliot KirkSilver Contributor
TrueGame, no we are not giving up on UWP. We did realize that for a browser to be successful, it needed to be everywhere our customers are. This includes mobile devices on both Android and iOS, as well as MacOS, and older Windows OSes, such as Windows 7 and 8.1.
Thanks - Elliot

Elliot KirkOkay, now I know ms is not gonna give up uwp. However what about windows 10 s? Can it run Chromium edge browser? And is there any plan updating edge through windows store?

TomazON @Del666
Tomaz is right, you could R&R it. OR, as I suggested earlier you could try a Repair 1st. There are, actually, 2 repairs offered. IF one doesn't do the trick, then use the 2nd. Can, also, go through the Office FIX site https://diagnostics.outlook.com/#/Download?env=Outlook. Here's a snip to help you find repair options; hit Modify to have this appear.
Cheers,
Drew

I tried to repro this to no avail. Open/running are Edge, Edge C Beta, Dev, Canary & IE. Nothing is impeding or interfering with any component of Office 365.
I will add, there should be no conflict between Office items installed on the OS and browsers; the 2 are quite separate.
Are you saying that since having some Channel of Edge C going, that now & because of that, your Office products have ceased working?
Have you tried repairing Office? Is it ok if Edge C is removed?

After reading all the comments here wanted to say that I installed beta and is working perfect. The only issue I had was that I have two profiles and it didn't recognize one or the other but finally could make both working with assistance from the team at edge support. I don't know if anyone else had this issue and I think has to do that managing profiles is new to edge. I mention this for future updates on the beta channel.
Thanks.- Elliot KirkSilver ContributorI am glad that our support agents were able to get you up and running!

I wanted to mention that I have installed a few Extensions and all are working great. Here is what I have installed:
IP Address and Domain InformationLastPass: Free Password ManagerOffice OnlineSave to PocketuBlock OriginWould like to see Webroot® Web Threat Shield Extension. As it is available from the Microsoft Store for Microsoft Edge.- Elliot KirkSilver Contributor
Hi Sherry Malik, you should be able to install the Webroot Web Threat Shield from the Google Play store. You will need to allow extensions from 3rd party stores using this control on the edge://extensions/ page.
Please let us know if this isn't working for you.
Thanks - Elliot

Nice to meet you! Looks like I missed a few Extensions eh? The more the merrier I say. As long as they all play nicely together. I wanted to install Ghostery but was not sure if I should or not. Sounds like a plan to me. More toys.
Thank you for sharing!
See you around as well!

I installed the beta version yesterday and I'm really liking it, so much so that I made it my default browser today.
One question
I noticed that the "open in IE" is missing from the "... Stettings" is this by design? Will IE sites just work in edge beta without any action or do I need to do something?
- TomazONBrass Contributor
MikeDee Hello Mike !! You don't need to download and install Internet Explorer 11 in Windows 10 because it's already installed. If u need it, just go to search bar and type: Internet Explorer 🙂 ... But I believe that that Internet Explorer time is to be over, with new technologies and security updates, enterprises need to update their apps because simply the clients deserve it. Today, people like to be updated with all devices, this is signal of security, speed, and trust ... And the enterprise that do not go to this path will lose they clients to another one that do ... It's time to change, even Microsoft is making huge changes to get tuned with new techs ... 🙂 See u around 🙂

Hi Mike & welcome,
IE Mode is (available) for certain Enterprise clients, only. For others wanting to use the old, passe Internet Explorer it can be accessed from within your OS. It is found in the Start menu inside the Windows Accessories folder. So, used directly, (by) itself, and not within any (other) browser.
Cheers,
Drew

Elliot Kirk Hi there. Thanks for making Chromium engine beautiful and polished, as well as easy on memory and other system resources (impressions come from dev version). I do like my new browser, just like the operating systems installed this machine. One of them is Windows, other one is yet-another-linux-distro which has derived from Ubuntu. I'm booting each one from time to time each day, doing my work, hanging out on web, committing crime to GitHub repo (code is suicide-friendly tbh). I'd like to know when I, and a lot of people around the world, be able to experience the love of Microsoft towards open source community with this piece of art. Thanks again, looking forward to hear from you.

onderbakirtas Hello man !!! Happy to hear about u ... I like Microsoft tools too ... Visual Studio to .NET Core and C# , and I work with VSCode to work with JavaScript/Node and HTML/CSS Grid/Flex to less complex websites ... I will start to learn Unity, I have two Great Udemy's courses bought 😉 And .NET Core is coming next month :)) See u around pal ...

Thank you for the information. I have installed Microsoft Edge Beta and just installed the Canary. I am really into this Edge Beta and I have already changed my Default Browser to Version 78.0.254.0 (Official build) canary (64-bit).
Fun times launching and testing this version of Canary! So thrilled I took time to check this out today.

Fun times, indeed, Sherry when you make the Channel that can have the most fun occurrences in it as Default (wink); nothing like being adventurous (smile). Kudos to you not making the (sure & comfy) Beta Channel your default.
Cheers,
Drew
