Activate Copilot for Microsoft 365 Business Standard (Mac)
I purchased "Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365" license. However, I am unable to activate it on Outlook and OneNote.
Word - Available on both Desktop & Website
Excel - Available on both Desktop & Website
Outlook - Available on Website, NOT on Desktop
OneNote - NOT available on both Desktop & Website
I tried the following method:
- Under "Language and time", turned on "Sync across Microsoft 365" under Use my Microsoft 365 setting
- Uninstall and reinstall the Office 365 Desktop app
- Turned on Optional Connected Experiences under Privacy in Outlook and OneNote Desktop app
- Update licenses on Desktop app
Any idea why Copilot not appear on some of the apps?
Thanks
Andy
- smagillCopper ContributorNot showing up in any of my apps on the Mac side. After several hours of monkeying around we've been able to get it to sort of show up on our Windows machines, but nothing with this is smooth. Have to say I am extremely frustrated at having to commit to a one year purchase to try this out and find out it's as buggy as hell.
- iammjmCopper ContributorSame thing, except I can't see Copilot in any of my apps except for edge. I got M365 Single + Copilot Pro on macOS M1. Is far as I know, OneNote is not available on mac (not sure if there even be one for macos). I'd expect Outlook & Excel/Word should work.
Very bad transparency & documentation by Microsoft. I've been looking around since yesterday for detailed infos regarding Copilot Pro & macos and found next to nothing. - smagillCopper Contributor
AndyF Update on my original post. Without my having done anything, Copilot did eventually show up in Outlook, Powerpoint and Excel. Not showing up in OneNote, though that's not entirely surprising. The Mac version of OneNote is much less robust than the Windows version.
Have to say, my experience with Copilot so far is very underwhelming. If I had been able to give it a trial before purchasing, would not have gone ahead with the purchase.
We won't be rolling this out to any other members of the team until there are significant productivity increases.

Unfortunately not helpful Connor959. I'm using the new version of outlook for mac, and have copilot accessible for outlook in the browser, but not desktop app. There is no extended description, guide or material available that I've found anywhere helping with this for mac. The closest you get is this description on learn.microsoft.com and requirements for m365 copilot, but no further help with how "to sync your Microsoft 365 settings".
It is however active in word, excel and powerpoint for desktop as you stated AndyF. Excuse the Norwegian, but you only need to update the license for M365 apps in the same way as for windows OS. As found in the attached picture. When completed in any of the office apps it will be activated for all of them.
Pudding and proof:

sonstevold did you get this to work for One Note? Have been working in all other 365 apps for us except One Note. half users on Mac half on PC.
- LoachmonsterCopper ContributorNot on the Mac it doesn't.
- DSemaanCopper ContributorCopilot appears on mac and windows , if you logout the account and login again
dont use the saved account , just take the option different user and login again with your licensed user
in some cases u have to delete the temp , i did it anyway, so im not sure if thats acutally needed.- bespanaCopper Contributor
In case it helps, i was having the same issue: Copilot working on every app on mac, iphone and web EXCEPT OUTLOOK. Outlook was not working on the desktop version mac. I tried everything and nothing worked until i deleted de email account form my accounts and signed in again. After this, copliot now appears. . DSemaan

I had the same thing. I'm on a Macbook!
First, be sure to log in to the apps with the right account.
Copilot did appear in Word, Excel and Presentation immidiately.
Copilot in Outlook appeared AFTER I changed the DNS-servers in the backend of my provider to make it able to mail out of SharePoint and changed the mail account settings in the app.
After I changes the DNS-servers I also had to change the mail account settings, since the Imap settings did not work anymore.
Maybe you have seen that in the online outlook the copilot icon will be available.
In the app not, because the settings are wrong.
Go to your settings and put:
Incoming mail server: Outlook.office365.com
SMTP/outgoing mail: SMTP.office365.com
I hope this will work for you.

MacBook with Copilot Microsoft 365.
Working on the webversion of Notebook, not on the desktop version.
Working on the webversion and desktop new version of Outlook. But, it does only work with my Microsoft email account address.... so, if I understand it correctly, it will not work with my company's email address (which is not a microsoft email address - it's also not possible to add it to the users) which makes it is useless....
Someone an idea to make it work?
