Copilot Studio agent not visible in M365 mobile app without desktop access
Hi,
I'm having an issue with a Copilot Studio agent not being discoverable in the Microsoft 365 mobile app for users without desktop access.
**Setup:**
- Agent created in Copilot Studio, published and shared with specific users
- All users have the same Microsoft 365 Copilot license
- Target channel is the Microsoft 365 app (not Teams)
- The agent has been published to both the Teams and Microsoft 365 channels in Copilot Studio
**The problem:**
Users who have access to a desktop/browser can open the agent via a direct link, add it, and after that it appears correctly in the M365 mobile app. However, users who only have access to the M365 mobile app cannot find the agent there — even though it has been shared with them.
**What I've tried:**
- Verified the agent is published and shared directly with the affected users in Copilot Studio
- Confirmed all users have the same license
- Published the agent to both Teams and Microsoft 365 channels
- Sending a direct link to the agent — works on desktop/browser but not actionable in the mobile app in a way that adds the agent
- Logging out and back in to the M365 mobile app
**What I'm looking for:**
Is there a way for users to discover and add a shared Copilot Studio agent directly from the M365 mobile app, without needing desktop or browser access first?
Any help or workarounds are appreciated!
Good news, this is not something you did wrong. It is a platform limitation and it explains exactly what you are seeing.
Teams and the M365 app on mobile simply do not act on install links. And sharing an agent from Copilot Studio only grants permission to use it, it does not install or surface it anywhere. So the only way a phone user ends up with the agent is if they previously went through the install flow on desktop. That is the behavior you described.
The proper fix is to have IT deploy it through the M365 admin center. From Copilot Studio, submit the agent for org publishing: Channels > Teams and Microsoft 365 Copilot > Show to the organization. The admin then approves it in the admin center under Copilot > Agents, and deploys it to the target users or groups. Once that is done, the agent shows up automatically in their Microsoft 365 app including on mobile, no action needed on their end.
If you would rather let users install it themselves on mobile, the Agent Store is now available on Android and iOS. After admin approval and org publishing, users can find the agent directly from the Copilot section in the M365 mobile app. But the admin step is still required before anything shows up there.
And if you need a quick workaround while waiting for admin involvement, just ask users to install once from Teams on desktop or web. It will sync to mobile after that.

Thanks this actually solved my problem! Not even the microsoft support team could help me with this sayin it's absolutly impossible, and the are aware of it. But thanks for the help!
Currently, Copilot Studio agents cannot be added directly from the Microsoft 365 mobile app. Users must first add the agent via desktop or browser; once added there, it will sync and appear in the mobile app. If mobile‑only access is needed, publishing to Teams may be a better option since Teams mobile supports agent discovery more natively.
