Licensing request: temporary D365 F&SCM environment for students (university of applied sciences)

I have a request / question: we as GWS have been invited by the university of applied sciences / university (as a competition to SAP) to give lectures on Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management. MEGA! Of course, we need an environment in which we can both show the solution and enable students to "lock & feel" (=access) for a limited period of time. Many years ago (2016?) we were able to launch this project together with Thorsten Scholl and were very successful in recruiting new employees for us as well as for other partners. We don't "earn" any money with the lectures = our investment - any fees always go to social institutions.

Still not seeing a question 😛 But I assume you're looking for a demo tenant/environment that you can use and is free (or at least as cheap as possible).

You can deploy free demo tenants for 90-days at the CDX platform of Microsoft: Microsoft Customer Digital Experiences. Worth to check if D365 UO is also part of this, though not all regions support all products.

Otherwise you could have a look at the Partner Benefits (formerly Intern Use Rights). As a partner you get a lot of free licenses to use, including D365 licenses. You could utilize one of these partner sandboxes for this purpose:

Alternatively you could request a (cheaper) paid partner licenses for this exact purpose. You can request such licenses here: [ISV] Request License (dynamics.com)

Removed the partner price for partner confidentiality reasons.

Those are the options I can imagine. Otherwise get in touch with your Microsoft contact and ask them for assistance.

JillArmourMicrosoft of course: At universities of applied sciences and universities, there are lectures on ERP systems, low-code, AI and more in various degree programs (e.g. business administration, computer science). These are held by IT providers = partners provide highly qualified employees (consultants, solution architects, etc.) free of charge. In Germany, SAP and SAP partners dominate here. The aim is of course to find and inspire new young talents. For the lectures and the current semester, the students naturally also need a test environment so that they can try out the solution (focus: Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management). There is currently no way (that we know of) to provide this - SAP does it! Today SAP wins the battle for talents.
