GDAP after Direct to Indirect Transfer
Will Direct partners become Indirect resellers and move their customers to Indirect, will they need to reestablish GDAP rights?
Hi SusanGuy56
The other comments are correct. As a best practice, I would recommend that you re-establish a relationship.
I'm providing a link to the overall document on how to transition from a direct bill to indirect reseller. In this article there is a specific section on moving customers from direct bill to indirect reseller that provides specific instructions along with GDAP rights.

Generally when moving from T1 to T2, you need to enroll a different Partner Location ID (PLA) as CSP Indirect Reseller, as the current PLA you're using is already enrolled as CSP Direct and having both Direct and Indirect status on the same PLA is not best-practice from Microsoft.
So when enrolling a new PLA as CSP Indirect Reseller, you need to setup a new tenant and a new Partner Center for the T2 account. This means you'll need to re-establish new GDAP relationships from this new T2 Partner Center, as it's linked to a different tenant.
Of course, you could keep your T1 status active thru your current Partner Center and do all the admin work thru there and keep using the existing GDAP relationships. And just don't use the new T2 Partner Center for GDAP. Then you would not require to re-establish GDAP relationships.
It all depends on your Partner Center setups really

Hi SusanGuy56,
In practice and as best practice, you should re-establish GDAP relationships when switching from direct to indirect CSP, because the reseller relationship layer changes and that is what underpins your admin access.

Small typo there - should read "When Direct partners become indirect resellers" :)
