Certification requirement to sell and implement MS Dynamics 365
- Oct 20, 2025
There's no (certification) requirement to sell licenses, you just need to enroll for the CSP Program: Enroll in the Cloud Solution Provider Program - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn.
Find a local CSP Distributor that can help with that: Find an indirect provider.
If you're looking for the Solutions Partner Designation Skilling requirements, they're here: Solutions Partner for Business applications - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn

I have a different opinion. The Microsoft Partner Agreement states in the Product Specific Terms and Conditions section ...

Thanks Nick for your input.
MartijnElfers Please provide your views for the same.
This is something which is confusing.
If my organizations gets an opportunity to Implement MS dynamics 365 for a client. Is there any kind of minimum requirement which is required from Microsoft's end which we should full fill to go ahead with that opportunity.
This is the most simplest form of language which I could use.
Thanks & Regards- MartijnElfersOct 27, 2025Bronze Contributor
I guess the screenshot provided is from an old MPA? As the products listed like D365 PSA and D365 Plan 1 are very old products which do not exist anymore (for a few years now). And it also does not include products like D365 Business Central or any of the D365 Unified Operations suit licenses. Which is weird, as to me it makes more sense for those product than for the D365 Customer Engagement products listed.
So check the latest version of the MPA is this requirement is still there. I doubt it :)
I still think there's no partner requirement for selling and implementing D365 from a Microsoft's point of view. Besides the normal CSP requirements of course.

I should have been clearer that the words were taken from the latest October 2025 version of the MPA, which all Direct and Indirect whether new or existing are bound by.
I agree that the list of limited licenses is not current.
I would disagree about not having technical capability. This is something we as a D365 partner are most concerned about. We have 'license shop' partners that will sell anything at very low margin to anyone with zero intention of supporting the customer. This is not what CSP is supposed to be.
I would rather Microsoft expand this list of licenses to include Business Central.
A must say though, that I have never seen or heard of Microsoft enforcing this. So, it does seem the terms are not enforced.
