Admin Agent role is missing in MS Partner Center
- Jun 17, 2025
SOLUTION: You can need to go to Azure > Users > click the user and select "groups" > Add the user to the "adminagent" group. Wait two hours and you will be able to request admin relationships with customers in Partner Center.
You mentioned that the issue is with new resellers. You also mentioned that the reseller is 'not able to choose the Admin Agent role'.
Resellers must be enrolled as indirect resellers in the CSP program and have Partner Center accounts. Direct your resellers to Partner with indirect providers in CSP for information about enrolling in CSP.

- NisChristiansenAug 04, 2023Brass ContributorHi, thanks for the reply. However, the issue is that the Partner is enrolled in the CSP indirect reseller program. They have a Partner ID, and have signed the MPA. This particular user is a global admin, so the question is still, why can't he assign himself the Admin Agent role in Permissions. This has never been an issue in the past, so therefore it is a bit strange.
- richardenurtureNov 06, 2023Copper ContributorHi there, I was wondering if you're aware of how your customer/partner was able to resolve this issue? We are in exactly the same boat, unable to raise a case via the Partner Portal but advised by our reseller that they cannot assist with Partner enquiries.
All of our partners are visible, and accessible, via the "All Tenants" view within the 365 admin console. Yet, the Customers and User Management Workspaces are missing from the Partner Center, even when logged in via Global Admin. Thanks in advance!- nationwideMSPJun 17, 2025Copper Contributor
For others who find this chain. Global Admin does not mean you have the "Admin Agent" role required. It appears you cannot add the "admin agent" role from the Partner Center dashboard BUT you can add it from the Azure users dashboard.
Go to Entra admin center or Azure > Users. Select the user you want to assign this role to, and then select "Groups" in the menu on the left. Add the user to the "AdminAgents" group in Azure.
I believe this will solve your problem. I have just done this, but I need to wait a few hours for the changes to propagate in the customer center of Partner Center. From reading other reports online it will take about two hours from adding a user to the AdminAgent group to when you are able to add customers in CSP.
