How to verify price changes on deprecated SKUs

I got triggered to ask my question due to this announcement: January 2024 announcements - Partner Center announcements | Microsoft Learn. So I got a hypothetical question regarding pricelists, price changes and deprecated SKUs.

When we purchase a SKU now, which will being removed from the pricelist in the future (being deprecated), how can we verify new prices when price changes are applied?

Example:

- We purchase a M365 E3 (with Teams) SKU now.

- This SKU is being removed from the price list from 1st of February as it's being deprecated.

- And Microsoft applies a +5% price increase in September due to currency exchange rates (note; this is just hypothetical, no announcements were made to change the prices in September).

- How can we verify the new purchase and ERP prices, if the SKU is not listed on the price list anymore?

Of course we can calculate ourselves what a +5% price increase would look like, but how can we make sure what the real/specific prices would be?

Hope anyone can give us some insights on it.

Cheers,

Martijn

If I understand your question correctly, for pricing details for Microsoft 365 and Office 365 w/Teams Enterprise suites (Office 365 E1/E3/E5 and Microsoft 365 E3/E5) in the EEA, use the most recent price list before the EOS effective date. Then you can reference the January 2024 New Commerce License-based services Price List.

Also, the link in your post includes an FAQ that shows a list of current prices vs new pricing.

The impacted SKUs that I listed above are not technically deprecated. Instead, they're end-of-sale and will be completely removed from the price list.  Just pointing this out since Microsoft's definition of "deprecated" is the discouragement of use of some terminology, feature, design, or practice because typically it has been superseded or is no longer considered efficient or safe, but without completely removing it or prohibiting its use.

      Hi License Concierge,

Good to point out the difference of end of sales and deprecated, thanks.

Indeed like you mentioned, the SKUs will be completely removed from the pricelist and thus we can only address the January 2024 pricelist for validating the prices (as of January 2024).

Though, what if Microsoft will change the prices in September, or next year February? Lets say Microsoft introduces a +5% price increase in CSP due to currency exchange rates. How can we validate the new prices than, if we can only reference the January 2024 pricelist?

      Cheers,

      Martijn
