D365 F&O Constraints between SKUs (1 yr and 3 yr)
- Aug 22, 2023Understand the first response but this is a massive move from previous and unclear. I do need to connect with someone directly to assist in amending the portal as the grace period is now expired. Who can I connect with.
On second issue - this needs to have and/or as this is not clear and MCE was brought into line with some of the EA rules when it came out. This 20 minimum across all products was one of the alignments? So the table reads incorrectly on your interpretation - whether you use english or Boolean interpretation - either way it is at odds. Given this mis-interpretation who can I escalate to?
Hi Markb61
First issue:-
Customer has minimum user count met on an NCE 1 year sku. ie 20 Fin and 20 SCM
I am now creating a 3 year SKU for Finance and supply chain. The MS ordering system is constraining me to order minimums again. Is this correct? That now menas the customer has twice minimums.
Per the NCE Handbook, when adding licenses to an existing subscription, the price & end date is the same, and the end date of all the individual licenses is controlled by the end date of this subscription. The NCE Handbook can be found in Partner Center.
However, in order to have a 3yr end date, as you've stated, you'll need to create a new subscription. This means that you're not adding licenses to the existing subscriptions. This new subscription operates completely separately from the original subscription, has a different end date (and may have different pricing since it's based on the current price list/eligible promotion). Each subscription must meet the minimum purchase requirements separately.
Second issue:
On the MPSA commercials web page specifying the minimums, it says you only need to order 20 min for Finance, 'or' 20 supplychain. It used to be 'and/or' This implies the once the min for Finance or supply chain has been met then all is ok - so if i order 20 FInance, i can then order 10 SCM. this is not the case when you enter it on the ordering system please confirm?
For the CSP program and per the Product Terms website, the minimum purchase for D365 Finance & SCM is 20 for each product:

The ability for EA customers to mix-n-match their D365 F&O licenses to meet the minimum purchase requirements was removed on 8/1/2023 (it was never an option for CSP). (Existing customers will not be required to meet the new min. purchase requirement until their agreement renewal).

LicensingConcierge1 that is interesting. On the current documentation it is misleading as it states ‘or’. Implying only one has to meet the condition. Older versions which you will have access to states ‘and/or’. So the official documentation is out of sync with the ordering system. Again how do I escalate so that my customer in not penalised?

Hi Markb61
I'm sorry that you're frustrated.
I want to make sure that I understand because you've listed two scenarios, but your question sounds like you have one scenario.
- You're asking if your customer purchases the minimum quantity of 20 Finance licenses under a 1-year contract, is this same customer able to purchase 10 SCM licenses under a 3-year contract, correct?
- Are you a Reseller, Indirect Provider, or direct Partner?
- May I have your company name?
Standing by.

Understand the first response but this is a massive move from previous and unclear. I do need to connect with someone directly to assist in amending the portal as the grace period is now expired. Who can I connect with. As mentioned, since you want to create a new 3yr subscription, which is separate from your existing 1yr subscription, may I ask what portal amendment you're requesting?
