Release Summary

On March 16 at 8:00 a.m. PDT Microsoft announced Copilot in Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents, further democratizing development and enabling even more people to create innovative solutions through natural language and AI. The integration of these transformative technologies is enabling a new era of AI generated low code solution development for citizen and professional developers alike.

Next-Generation AI in Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Virtual Agents, and AI Builder

Power Apps launches next-generation copilot for app makers and users

Copilot in Power Apps enables makers to easily create apps from natural language, will quickly develop a functioning application, and provides proactive recommendations for how you can improve the app as you continue to build it. Additionally, with the copilot control in Power Apps, makers can include copilot capability in their own apps giving their users the ability to get intelligent insights and analytics about the data in the app through a conversational chat experience. Finally, Power Apps is also adding the ability to natively integrate Power Virtual Agent chatbots into apps. Simply build your PVA bot in Power Virtual Agents, copy the PVA bot name, and paste it into the chatbot control in Power Apps.

Power Automate enhances natural language to flow, introducing a new copilot

With Copilot in Power Automate cloud flow studio, flow authors will soon be able to accelerate the creation of their flows to minutes using the existing natural language to cloud flow capability to describe the flow they want to build and then use an in-studio copilot to refine it, again using natural language to create complex flows that include summarizing text with Azure OpenAI GPT. This opens up a new category of makers to the possibilities of automating business processes with Power Automate.

Power Virtual Agents expands generative AI offering with new copilot

Today, Power Virtual Agents is launching an in-product copilot that helps makers quickly create bots and refine topics using natural language. This streamlines the bot and topic development process, meaning makers can spin up a high-value bot in minutes. On March 6, Power Virtual Agents released its first GPT-backed feature, conversation boosters. This allows makers to connect their bot to their most current and useful data sources, like company websites, to answer questions in minutes, right out of the box, with no additional authoring.

Create text with new generation AI in AI Builder

On March 6, AI Builder announced the new Azure OpenAI pre-built model for Power Apps and Power Automate. Combining the language models from Azure OpenAI Service with the user-friendly interface of AI Builder, makers can embed next-generation AI into their apps and flows with just a few clicks. Makers can easily prompt the model with template instructions or create their own for even more customization options.
