Academic OVS-ES FTE count versus actual count
Thank you, Jennie
Hi Jennie_Maier
hmmm...I did not see where OnPrem & Online make a difference in this scenario.
As mentioned, Configuration Manager is a part of the (6) products listed in the snapshot below:
Therefore, you would purchase the EMS, M365, or Intune product the same as always, and Configuration Manager is included...it's not a separate license/product. Please carefully review the information in my previous reply.

- Jennie_MaierAug 11, 2023Brass ContributorHi, it can be purchased as a standalone license through a OVS-ES agreement (school agreement) which is an onprem license, so the Cloud licenses you mentioned would not apply to this scenario. The skus options include two license choices:
J5A-01178
Endpoint Configuration Manager ALng LSA OLV E 1Y Acad Ent Per OSE
OR
J5A-01180
Endpoint Configuration Manager ALng LSA OLV E 1Y Acad Ent Per User- Sherry_Solomon_WTGAug 24, 2023Copper Contributorthese are per FTE
- Sherry_Solomon_WTGAug 23, 2023Copper ContributorBoth of these skus are sold per FTE, it would say Add-on vs ENT if you had the option to do an "exact" count. Not all applications allow you to just add on a few users with Open Value Subscription. These are level E so make sure you have the correct program, not sure if you purchase Level F (1000+ FTE)
J5A-01180 Endpoint Configuration Manager ALng LSA OLV E 1Y Acad ENT Per User
J5A-01178 Endpoint Configuration Manager ALng LSA OLV E 1Y Acad ENT Per OSE
You can choose OSE or User depending on the preferred deployment should be the same price. - LicensingConcierge1Aug 11, 2023

Thank you for providing the SKUs. I've confirmed that those products are still available.
Your question is:
Can it be licensed by actual users or operating system or does it need to be licensed at FTE count?
The SKU description specifically says "Per OSE" and "Per User", so that tells you how to order each one.
Please let me know what I'm missing here.

- Jennie_MaierAug 11, 2023Brass ContributorSome of the licenses have to be ordered via Full-time equivalency count and some do not. I don't think this one does, but was hoping to verify. Some of the licenses are "per user" some "per OSE", some "device", etc, but there are different requirements based on different licenses for this type of licensing agreement.
