Academic MS Office Desktop through OVS-ES Agreement
A customer recently purchased a new OVS-ES Agreement from us which included Windows Education as their base product to enter into the OVS-ES Agreement. They also purchased some Apps for Faculty licenses (through CSP) for specific users needing the Apps for Faculty downloadable version. Another vendor/partner is telling them they can get the M365 Apps for Faculty free through OVS-ES (using part number S3Y-00004). My understanding that in order to use the free license, the customer would have to have an underlying purchased license that gives them these rights (such as the Desktop Application Suite or Office ProPlus). Can someone let me know if the customer has rights to the free version if they used Windows Education as the base product? If not, any other way for them to get the rights to use the free downgradeable version of MS Office suite? Side note, I know that there are also A1+ licenses available for students, but my understanding is that the customer still needs a paid-for license to use the A1+ for the desktop version of Office. Any help would be appreciated!
