Strong overview. I would frame Azure security as a layered operating model rather than a list of tools.
A solid baseline usually starts with identity and access: Entra ID, Conditional Access, managed identities, RBAC, and PIM. Then add data and secret protection with Key Vault, storage controls, encryption, and private access. After that, use Defender for Cloud, Azure Policy, Monitor, and Sentinel to detect drift and respond.
The real value comes when these layers reinforce each other: policy prevents common mistakes, Defender finds weak configurations, logs show what happened, and Sentinel or automation turns signals into action.
