We are preparing a mailbox for the user
Hi Team This is a new setup with no AD connect with O365 business basic license . For all the users I get "We are preparing a mailbox for the user" message. It is been like this for 3 days now. D...
- Jun 21, 2022I called Microsoft and got it sorted out. Issue was licenses purchased through reseller did not get applied due to some MS back end problem. So purchased a trial license from the admin center and it helped to get applied. For the benefits of anyone who would have the same issue I have outlined the steps below.
Summary of the Steps Completed:

1. Gone to Admin Center and verify if Exchange Online license is assign to users.
2. Run back end diagnostics = found a transient error.
3. Purchase trial license for Office 356 for Business Premium
4. Sign in to Exchange Admin Center = successfully sign in.
5. After sometime users with Office 365 for Business Basic is now showing in Exchange Admin Center.
6. Tried to sign in to outlook.office365.com = successfully sign in.
7. Cancel the trial subscription for Office 365 for Business Premium
